Updated: Apr 4, 2023

Start: March 12th, 2023 8:00 am

End: March 12th, 2023 2:00 pm

George Dutton is a professor in the UCLA Department of Asian Languages and Cultures where he specializes in early modern through early colonial Vietnamese history. He teaches courses on early and contemporary Vietnam, and a range of courses in Southeast Asian studies. These include courses on Southeast Asian religions in contemporary society, on 20th-century Southeast Asian literature, and on Zomia, which involves critical issues relating to upland ethnic communities in mainland Southeast Asia and Southwest China.

We'll be hiking past Echo Mountain, hopefully up to Inspiration Point, depending on snow conditions. This will be a longer-trail, ~8-10 miles and ~2000-3000ft of elevation so come prepared! Water, sunscreen, and snacks are a must, and we will be stopping for lunch mid-way through.

Tickets will be available starting on March 6th. Unlike past trips, we will have a first wave of sign-ups up until 2PM [Changed from 10AM] on March 7th. Everyone who signs up before this time will have an equal chance of getting a spot!

Sign-ups are available here!
