Join us for this beautiful 5.9 mile hike through the beautiful greenery of the Santa Monica Mountains. We will hike part of the famous Backbone trail, the Mishe Mokwa trial, and hit the tallest peak in the Santa Monica Mountains, Sandstone Peak, on this loop hike. With views of the ocean and the sprawling mountains around, we will gain approximately 1,400 ft on this moderately difficult hike.
Hiking with us will be Dr. Nikolas Nordendale, a lecturer in the Mechanical and Aerospace department at UCLA. He has his bachelors, masters, and PhD from Vanderbilt University. Outside of ucla, Dr. Nordendale is an Associate Director at The Aerospace Corporation. He is currently teaching Mech&AE 156A: Advanced Strength of Materials. Make sure to sign up so you can get to know Dr. Nordendale, ask questions, and hike in the breathtaking Santa Monica Mountains!
