5/17: Hastain Trail w/ Olivia Simon

Join us for this scenic 2.5 mile loop near West Hollywood! This is a moderately challenging trail inside Franklin Canyon Park with about 580ft of elevation gain and views of the LA skyline. Sign up to see blooming wildflowers and some of the wildlife native to LA!

Joining us on this hike is PhD student Olivia Simon of the Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Department. Olivia studies how cold water corals off the Southern California coast distribute and respond to ocean acidification at the biomolecular level. Olivia obtained her undergraduate degree from UCSB and is now in the 2nd year of her PhD program!
