2/8: Canyonback Trail w/ Rana Khankan

Join us on this fun 3.0 mile hike featuring a trailhead off of the iconic Mulholland Drive and views of the Los Angeles skyline and coast! This hike is a beginner-friendly, out-and-back trip with about 400ft of elevation change. Don't miss the chance to kick off Super Bowl Sunday by exploring this scenic trail into some of the vast nature preserves in the Santa Monica mountains, which are currently teeming with greenery and blooms after recent rain.

Joining us on this hike is Professor Rana Khankan of the Life Sciences Department. Dr. Khankan earned her Masters degree and PhD at UCLA and specializes in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology. Dr. Khankan is an academic administrator and lecturer for the Life Science Core, and has taught both LS7A and LS7C. She brings her passion for science into the classroom in a manner that excites and engages students, and we are so excited to have her join us on a hike!
