2/7/2026: Betty B Dearing Mountain Trail w/ Professor Isaac Opper

Join us on this gorgeous 5.2-mile hike through Fryman Canyon Park, with amazing views of Los Angeles, streams, and diverse vegetation! This hike is a moderately challenging out-and-back with about 1,000ft of elevation gain. You won't want to miss the chance to get away from campus and into the woods, where it is sure to be beautiful and lush after these weeks of rain! 

Joining us on this hike is Professor Isaac Opper, economist and professor in the Luskin School for Public Policy. Professor Opper is new to UCLA and eager to meet students and share his experience specializing in economic theory and econometric techniques to better understand policy implications. Professor Opper has many insights to share from his years working in economics and policy, and is excited to meet all of you!
