Join us for this stunning 2.6-mile hike through the greenery of the Ferndell and West Observatory trails to the Griffith Observatory. We will be taking the Ferndell Nature Trail, then connecting to the West Observatory Loop. At the top, we'll get to check out the Griffith Observatory and see some great views of Los Angeles! The hike itself consists of an elevation gain of a total of 613 feet, but some sections are steep. Though there isn’t much shade, many plants and wildflowers decorate the trail.
Joining us on the hike will be Professor Carey Nachenberg, a returning professor who has hiked with Peaks and Professors before. Professor Nachenberg has worked as a professor of Computer Science at UCLA for multiple years and is a published author of a book called The Florentine Deception. He also loves to rock climb. Don’t miss out on getting to hike and chat with Professor Nachenberg! As an added bonus, Professor Nachenberg's dog will be joining us as well.
