Come along for this stunning 7.3 mile trek up to Parker Mesa Overlook with Professor Shane Campbell-Staton! Initially winding us through Topanga State Park's lush canyons, this trail lends itself to breathtaking panoramic views of the Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific ocean. The first half of the hike is met with greenery and ample shade, preparing us for the second half, where we will reach the top of the overlook. This hike boasts an incredible 1300 ft in elevation gain and incredible views to show for it!
Joining this hike with us will be Professor Shane Campbell-Staton, one of UCLA's Faculty-in-Residence members on the Hill and an Ecology and Evolutionary Biology assistant Professor at UCLA. Professor Shane Campbell-Staton earned his PhD in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University before joining UCLA, and he also co-hosts UCLA's podcast on the "Biology of Superheros." You won't want to miss this chance to meet him!
