Start: November 18, 2023, 9:00 am
End: November 18, 11:30 am
Join us for a hike to an unforgettable sandstone cave with panoramic views of the Santa Monica Mountains. Starting at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park, we will be following a moderately challenging 3-mile out-and-back hike, ending at a beautiful hidden sandstone formation with light pouring in through natural skylights. The hike itself consists of a gentle incline culminating in around 100 feet of elevation gain. We will also be exploring the contrast between nature and graffiti along the trail.
Joining us on the hike are returning professors Randy Fallows and Tamar Christensen from the English Department. Both passionate lecturers and authors, Randy and Tamar have both published many papers and co-authored "Own Your Perspective: A Concise Exploration into Content and Form"— a guide for students to develop their analytical essays. The couple is also committed to living a sustainable life and promoting the use of public transportation. Sign up to join this hike if you're interested in English, living a more environmentally friendly life, or just want to explore some cool caves with a cool group of people!
Sign-ups are available here until Monday, November 13.
