10/20 Temescal Canyon Loop w/ Rebecca Shipe

Join us and Professor Rebecca Shipe for a stunning 3-mile hike in Temescal Canyon! This moderately challenging hike offers scenic vistas, lush greenery, and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. 

Professor Rebecca Shipe is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Penn State and a Ph.D. in Marine Science from UC Santa Barbara, and she was a Wrigley Postdoctoral Scholar at USC. As a biological oceanographer, her research focuses on the relationships between phytoplankton and their environment. Professor Shipe also teaches the signature course of the UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge, the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program (URSP).
